The Wimpole Estate, Cambridgeshire

The Wimpole Estate is an 18th Century house run by the National Trust, 8 miles south of Cambridge, UK. It has landscaped gardens and a home farm you can visit (although that was pretty boring and I had to pay extra to get in – not worth the money IMO). The residents of Wimpole Estate were so rich, they built a ruined castle folly so that the lady of the house had something to look at while she ate her breakfast in the morning room.

The area around the Wimpole Estate is very pretty – country lanes and quaint cottages. I spent alot of time in the area just pottering around the place, not caring if I got lost (eventually I’d find my way).
