Writing practise
Remember the sheer agony you felt at school when you were assigned an essay to write? Just the thought of it was exhausting, and after a few lines of fervent scribbling your pencil hand ached and you wondered whether making your letters bigger and spacing them out meant that you’d get away with writing a lot less. Who’d have thought years later I’d be writing as a hobby and aspiring to write professionally?
Nowadays I touch type, and my only impediment is a mind which suffers from ADD and has a hard time staying on track unless it’s inspired and going through one of its manic stages. I wish I were more disciplined. Do authors who write for a living have a particular talent for staying on track and persevering through writer’s block?
So this is my first post. I firmly believe that regular writing is the lubricant for a rusty mind which needs regular oiling to keep the cogs of inspiration turning. This blog is purely for practise … somewhere I can unload the jumble of thoughts in my mind. I don’t have the most exciting life, so the challenge is coming up with something fairly interesting, regularly.
I was finished the first draft, but then I decided to torment my characters even more, and I'm adding an extra couple of scenes.
